Thursday, August 2nd, I wrote this blog.
Today, more than four months later, Brock and I went to spend the day with that family. I never followed up, but the amazing, beautiful Irish woman not only kept from going into pre-term labor, but she also ended up going a week over due.
She had a beautiful baby boy they named Ryan. When I say we spent the day with them, I really mean it. We made plans to meet for lunch, and ended up talking and getting on until nearly 5 o’clock. They really are wonderful people. So easy to chat with, so friendly, good listeners and good story tellers. Mum let me play with baby Ryan the whole time (which I am /always/ up for) – bottles, burps, diapers and all. It was really nice.
Just before we left, Mum took a few pictures of us, along with a beautiful Thank-you card. The amount of appreciation they had for my small part in their pregnancy was nearly overwhelming. But I feel blessed to have been a part of their little miracle, and lucky to have the three of them now a part of our lives.
Me and the little tyke. He was so sweet.
