September 10, 2004

So I had a cool, long day.   I was up really late lastnight, and up really early for school today.  Intro to DMS was ok, Patient care Tech, I only got an 89% on test where the average was a fail.  My teacher is really upset because she feels like she didn’t teach the material well enough.  I talked to her after class and told her (knowing full well that she didn’t write the test) not to feel bad because it is a really poorly written test, and she was not at fault.  I don’t know if it made HER feel better, but at least she knows how one student feels.

Then I had Physics.  Only an hour GOD BE PRAISED.  I don’t know if I can live through a whole semester of that class.  I’m not joking. ><

After that, I drove out to my mother- and father-in-law’s house and did laundry/homework all afternoon.  When I say all afternoon, I mean…I got there around 1:00, left at 7:00 for dance, came back at 9:00 to get the last of my laundry, and just now got home at 12:55a.m.

Wanna hear a funny story?  Sure you do.  My in-laws were out of town (hence me feeling comfortable using their house to do laundry.)  They weren’t expected back until tomorrow morning.  As I was driving back from dance in the dark at 9:00, I noticed some lights on in the house.  I thought to myself, “I’m sure I turned off all of those lights.  I’m sure of it.  Oh well, I guess I forgot one.”  I didn’t think about it again.  I pulled up to the garage, opened it, and went into the house.  Fumbled with some lights, and hear, “Hello?”
Do not kid yourself into thinking my heart did not stop.  It took me a few seconds to recognize the voice, and then I allowed myself to breathe again.  “Oh…my…goodness, you SCARED me!  I thought you were getting home tomorrow!”
Yeah, thinking someone has broken in on your in-law’s home while you’re there doing laundry is totally not cool.

Anyways, I sat and chatted with my father-in-law for about 3 and a half hours, which is always nice.  I enjoy talking to him, he’s a great story-teller.  He’s also a darn good listener, which makes it a fifty-fifty conversation.  It was a good night.

And in other news, I have to get my laundry in out of the car, and then go to sleep.  I’m helping Shannon with her ultrasound lab tomorrow, cause I’m nice, and I’m gonna be tired if I don’t do it soon.
