Sometimes I really don’t know what I would do without my Xanga.

We’re hiring a new nanny.  We just don’t like leaving Ronan in daycare.  Beyond the fact that he’s one of 10 – yes TEN – infants in a room with only two teachers, it’s a huge pain in my rear to have to fiddle-fart with everything to get it daycare ready.  Labeling all of the clothes, making sure they have enough diapers (because they wont use cloth) and getting bottles ready with dates and orders on them.  Seriously, for one day a week it’s far too much effort.

I’ve already met with one lady, and she’s going to keep Ronan tomorrow on a trial basis.  I’ve contacted two other girls and scheduled “meets” with them.  This is the first time I’ve had more than one candidate in mind, so I’m not really looking forward to having to tell two of them “no”.  But really, it’s what’s best for Ronan and for US as a family.

The first lady is wonderfully sweet, and willing to do housework/laundry/cooking at no extra charge.  That’s a HUGE plus in her favor.   But she seems a little insecure about what she’s doing, and gets overwhelmed with information pretty easily.  She also seems quite drawn to a “schedule” for Ronan, of which there is none.  We parent on demand, with a flexible routine – NO schedule.  Ronan is fed when he’s hungry, napped when he’s tired, and played with when he’s ready to play.  She kept asking me and asking me, “Ok, what time does he eat?  And what time do I put him down for a nap?”  I think she’s a great lady, but I don’t know that she’s the right fit.  I want someone that is comfortable going with the flow, reading Ronan’s cues, and willing to take things as they come.  We’ll see how tomorrow goes.  Brock really gets the final say, anyways, and he hasn’t met her yet.

In other news, I need a video baby monitor.  I never thought I would say that.

I suppose I should share some baby pictures!  It’s been a while, so I have lots.
